It's been years since the last post on this epic magnetizing tutorial! The Big Mek magnet project was a clever way to swap weapons, but I'm curious if there are any new updates or techniques from Joe B. since then. Have there been any new advancements or cool ideas for further enhancing these conversions?

Very helpful and useful. Thanks for sharing this.
GIMP is a full blown image/photo manipulation app that at the very least keeps up with Photoshop.
I use this Gimp software with My XP-Pen ( https://www.xp-pen.com ) drawing pad all the time in my personal work and it's just great.
I have to confess that at first it can be a bit difficult to handle because it is not very intuitive, but after a while I was able to successfully get used to it and use it efficiently.

Long live OLDHAMMER! A faithful soldier since 1989. I saw Blood Bowl in a game store in San Diego, and I was hooked. Next came Rogue Trader and a bucket load of Orks, and then Fantasy Battles and White Dwarf Issue collecting. (Old issues of course, pre-2009. The year the music died. Because GW didn't really show up on my radar until then I guess the 90's and early to mid 2000's are my era. The early stuff is the best. Love the crazy artwork and incredible weird sculpts. Still kickin' myself I didn't buy Space Hulk 2nd edition when I had the chance!! Doh. Love the topic. Thanks

I looked back at the image and it does look way more yellow than it actually is. The auto adjust is off. I added pictures of the Deff Dread I finished a few weeks back and you can see the colors better. https://uploads.disquscdn.c...

Hi again - playing around with this technique tonight. It seems like your initial coats on the metal seem more yellow than orange in your images. Why is that?

The index, like the previous Ork codex, only rewards large mobs of Boyz. While that's very Orky and great, some of us prefer the other kults, like Speed Freeks, which are not really viable. I hate having a playstyle crammed down my throat, at least when other styles were previously possible.

There are a bunch of Ork players out there hoping for the same. I heard the index rules were really good until the codex started trumping everything else.

Yeah I guess I am a bit. I really like the resin bases but you are right, the GW plastic bases are nice for the price. And especially easy to paint if you leave them on the sprue.
